"Our stay at the Dar Fakir was a joy"
5 of 5 stars
We loved everything about the Dar Fakir! It's immensely stylish, with the sort of seemingly simple décor that has entailed a great deal of thought and attention to detail, resulting in a calm and quietly luxurious atmosphere which is a striking contrast to the narrow streets of the medina outside. The staff were delightful andlooked after us with the greatest care and consideration, and the breakfast was the best we had in Morocco. It was fortunate though that we were the only guests, as our party included children of five and six who might have disturbed any other guests since the rooms all opened onto the central courtyard. This hotel is so special that it would be worth going back to Morocco just to stay there again: and it would be a wonderful place to take a party of friends for a weekend in Marrakech.

"Excellent stay!"
5 of 5 stars
We had an absolute excellent and relaxing stay at that Riad. We never expected such a wonderful Hotel after a short walk through all those small alleys. When you open the main door you seem to be in another world - a mix of "very aesthetic" but always original. The management was very friendly and care taking. We advice to make use of the opportunity to be picked up from the airport.

"little oasis!"
5 of 5 stars
Very calm, very friendly stuff and a good relaxing area after a wild day in the Medina. Kerstin, the manager, always had the best tips for trip or restaurants and her organisation skills are amazing! Even in ramadan times with 45 celsius it was fresh and quiet during the day...

"The best...."
5 of 5 stars
One on the best things in Marrakesh was our stay at Dar Fakir, the staff is very friendly, the chef is the best one in town! Very clean, and they will do whatever it takes to make sure you leave with a smile. Very romantic! Depending on the time you arrive the area could be intimidating but don't worry, the people are very helpful, they will walk you to we're you need to go if you are lost (very easy to get lost) Go out and enjoy the plaza after 7pm. No worries about getting robbed, just don't walk in to the shops unless you are ready to buy.

Just back from a lovely 3 nights stay at the Dar Fakir. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and was made to feel very welcome. Kerstin was a great help and with our welcome meeting we felt very confident that we would have a great stay. The Riad is very calm and peaceful even though you are only minutes away from...

"Amazing experience"
5 of 5 stars
What can I say, if you want Moroccan charm mixed with European service then Dar Fakir is your place. From the style to the staff, our experience was excellent. We had a number of good tips of where to visit and probably ate our best meal on the first evening. The staff looked after our group and the building was...

"Amazing 40th Birthday Weekend at Dar Fakir!"
5 of 5 stars
I have to apologise to Dar Fakir for posting this review so late. My husband and I organised a private house party at Dar Fakir for my 40th birthday celebrations in Jan this year. I searched thoroughly for the right place, as we wanted a luxurious but intimate feel for our guests. Dar Fakir, encapsulates everything you want in an...

This was my second stay at the riad. I came here to Marrakech with family and we were staying at another riad but had too leave immediately. Luckily I had stayed here a few months back and had Kirsten details so we checked in the second day of our holiday. This place is amazing and absolutely value for money. Your...

"good vibes"

I spent three nights with my girlfriend, it was on February for a long week-end. I picked the place randomly but I was nicely surprised. I would recommend to whoever is seeking something very romantic yet not extremely pretentious. BW Marco

"Beautiful from service to style."
5 of 5 stars
I chose to spend my birthday in Marrakesh, which turned out to be one of the best holidays of my life so far. which is quite a statement as i have traveled extensive. I strongly feel this is owed to the experience we had at Dar fakir. The surroundings are simply beautiful - a luxury oasis in the heart of the Medina. Sumptuous furnishings, lush greenery and attention to detail all added to a real 5 star experience, which let me say is at a very reasonable price compared to other establishments of equal measure. Breakfast is not to be missed, (although this would be hard as they accommodate you any time!) I have never had such a feast, with local dishes which makes it really special. We had dinner on our first night there at the Riad too and it was delicious - highly recommended! For us though the service was simply the best i have ever experienced. Upon arrival Kristen and Kate greeted us with mint tea and an abundance of local knowledge which led to feeling like we had a secret map of the city, with the best restaurants, bars and sights all laid out for us. This made our trip what it was, amazing, and its this insider knowledge that is truly unbeatable! The whole staff were happy and helpful, but we would like to give a special mention to Kate who was on hand to help us with everything we could possibly need and her service and warmth made us feel so at home. We will be coming back next year and im bringing the whole family!

"Would stay here again, friendly, clean and good location"
5 of 5 stars
Conviently located 5 minutes walk from the main square, this Riad boasts very nice and clean rooms with good amenities and a very friendly, polite and knowledgable staff. Kirsten the manager was very helpful and had good local knowledge. I was surprised to read negative reviews as none of them rang true, until I realized this was under the previous management. Our room was very atmospheric and spacious, and overall had good facilities. The food was very tasty and the service very friendly. If you're looking for an hotel, a Riad may not be for you as there's a 'guest house' feel to them but if you're looking for the personal touch and a 'home away from home' feel then this Riad is the one for you. Overall very pleased with our few days here, and would reccomend to anyone looking for the authentic Marrakech experience.

"Fabulous stay at Dar Fakir"
5 of 5 stars
My mother and I have just returned from a wonderful stay at Dar Fakir. So close to the main square and the souks, yet quiet and inviting. The fire and candlelight that greeted us as we arrived created a lovely atmosphere and was perfect for a glass of wine and relaxation after a busy day of sight seeing etc. The beds were very comfortable and the shower excellent. Thank you to Kerstin and everyone at Dar Fakir for a fabulous and memorable holiday.

"The perfect retreat"
5 of 5 stars
Just returned from a fabulous short holiday - only a few days, but Dar Fakir was perfect. The location was excellent - a very short hop from the souks and the main square, perfectly safe to walk even at night and remarkably quiet and tranquil. Upon our arrival, we were immediately 'upgraded' to a larger room (what a welcome!) and had the Dar to ourselves most of the time. Breakfasts on the terrace are spectacular, and every single member of the staff are very welcoming, friendly, accommodating and helpful at all times. Kerstin runs the Dar very efficiently and thanks to her directions and insider-knowledge of the medina, we didn't get lost once (and thats quite an achievement!) All in all, it was a great place to be - tranquil, relaxing, calm and beautiful. We'll visit again for sure.
